SUBMITTING A NEW PROJECT TO EWB-USA
EWB-USA projects come from people identifying needs within a developing community and then informing EWB-USA of the need in the community via a 501 - Project Application. Project Applications can be submitted by EWB-USA Chapters, NGO's or the community themselves.
Application Process:
All new projects for EWB-USA chapters, whether in the USA or abroad, must be approved by EWB-USA prior to the start of the project.
1) Download and fill out the 501 - Project Application and send it to a project manager (an example project application is also available on the projects download page). The dates listed below are a guide to how long it will take to receive notification about your application. (Note: There is no need to become member of EWB-USA to submit a project application).

2) The application is reviewed by the Application Review Committee (ARC) who will either approve, decline or ask for more information on the project.
3) If a project application is approved, there are two possibilities depending on whether a chapter is already associated with a project:
A) If the project has a chapter associated with it, then that chapter and the submitter will be informed of the application's approval, and the chapter can start to work on the engineering and fundraising for the project.
B) If the project does not have a chapter associated with it, then the project will be posted on the EWB-USA website for adoption by an EWB-USA Chapter. This adoption process can take 1-6 months. (Note: the submitter's contact information will not be posted on the website, and this will remain confidential until a chapter adopts the project)
Once the project has been adopted by an EWB-USA chapter, the NGO/community and chapter will work directly with each other to develop the project, arrange travel to the community, procure funding, and all the other details of necessary for a successful project.
4) If you have any questions about our project process as it relates to your project, you may also contact the Project Manager.
