As a member of EWB-USA, you can help increase the awareness of our work and participate in projects that contribute to the making of a better world.
Membership is valid for the calendar year and is prorated according to the month of the receipt of the membership payment. (See table for proration schedule).
Currently, there are four categories of membership:
- Supporting - see table (monthly newsletter, invitations to EWB events, and priority info on workshops with members only registration)
- Professional - see table ($20 goes to the local chapter and $15 to the region)
- Student Chapter - $400 If you are interested in starting a Student Chapter, please contact the Chapters Coordinator for the proper paperwork and procedures. A chapter cannot become a chapter simply by signing up on the website. The annual student chapter fee offers unlimited student memberships and 2 faculty advisors - renewable at the beginning of each school year. Any additional participating faculty will need to pay the $100 professional membership fee. For EWB-USA purposes, we consider the school year as September 1 to August 31. In addition, students must be part of a University chapter to be a member of EWB-USA.
- Lifetime (one time payment) - $2,500. This is only available in a one-time payment .

If you are interested in starting a chapter of EWB-USA, please contact the Chapters Coordinator for the proper paperwork and procedures. (There is no way for a chapter to become a chapter by signing up on the website)
For the time being, additions to membership lists for existing student chapters must be made by contacting the Membership Coordinator; these additions/changes will eventually be done by the designated officer in the chapters.
EWB-USA Supporting membership benefits include:
- Personal satisfaction in contributing to the organization of EWB-USA and its mission of international development.
- Receipt of a monthly newsletter with updates on EWB-USA activities
- Invitations to EWB-USA events
- Priority information about the annual International Conference and Regional Workshops, with access to Members Only registration levels.
- Supporting Membership is not connected to a specific chapter and Supporting Members do not participate in chapter projects or efforts.
EWB-USA Professional, Student and Lifetime membership benefits include:
- An opportunity to participate in projects
- Receipt of a monthly newsletter with updates on EWB-USA activities
- Personal satisfaction in helping to launch a world-wide organization beneficial to developing countries
- Personal satisfaction in contributing to the organization
- Opportunities to work with students, professionals, and indigenous rural communities
